Spending our last night in Sri Lanka at the conveniently situated Dephani Beach Hotel +94312234359, only 8 km from Colombo's international airport, taking the next morning the S.L.T.B. (Sri Lanka Transport Board) bus no. 905 (LKR 9.- per person) from the bus stop opposite our hotel to Negombo proper, thereafter the S.L.T.B. bus no. 240 from Negombo’s improvised bus station to the Katunayake Bus Station and from there the supposedly free shuttle bus to the departure terminal of Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (un/fortunately, a team of clever local pickpockets relieved Matt of his decoy wallet which luckily contained only INR 360.- and LKR 1,100.-; altogether a loss of about US$ 18.-), flying from there with Air India Express (“Simply Priceless”) in a worn Boeing 737-800 to Madras aka Chennai (Chennai International Airport, the third-busiest airport in India [after Delhi and Mumbai]), for all inclusive INR 2,762.- or US$ 60.- per person, and taking eventually the suburban train for only INR 6.- per person from the airport's Tirusalam railway station to Chennai’s crowded (… if the population of India walked past us in single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction …) and mucky Egmore suburb.
